Stall Holders on the Day

Low Carbon West Oxford

Helen Reid

“We are a community working together to combat climate change by cutting our individual and community carbon dioxide emissions, and promoting more sustainable lifestyles. LCWO was set up by local residents in November 2007 prompted by concerns about local flooding, as well as about the impact of climate change around the world.

We want to involve as much of the community as possible, and create win-win strategies that help residents save energy, save money and save the planet.”

LCWO has several active sub-groups on transport, waste reduction, tree planting and food, and has recently set up West Oxford Community Renewables.
West Oxford Community Renewables (WOCR) was established for the specific purpose of building community-owned renewable energy schemes in West Oxford and to thus generate funds for LCWO, and has recently launched its share offer, open to everybody.

At the stall you will be able to get information about the activities of the various sub-groups, buy shares in the share offer, and register your interest in a local wholefood initiative via a survey by the food group.
