Catrina Pickering:

Frames, Values and Social Change

catrina

In a recent piece of research conducted by Exeter University, the longest and most frequent flights were taken by those who were most aware of environmental issues.  Why is this?

Frames are mental structures that shape the way we see the world.  They shape the goals we seek, the plans we make, the way we act.  To change our frames is to change all of this.  Reframing therefore is social change.  This workshop will use the concept of “reframing” to explore how we can combat climate change denial and engender a more optimistic outlook towards achieving a low carbon future.
