Simon Pratt:

Active Travel & Low Carbon Transport

Simon Pratt

Sustrans and other local transport organisations have recently published the Oxfordshire Active Travel Strategy, which is asking the County Council to spend 10% of the local transport budget on walking and cycling. Simon will explain why active travel is so important for personal and planetary health and describe a number of practical projects, both locally and nationally. Sustrans have also been active in the preparation of a transport vision for Oxford for the next 20 years and we will discuss what a low carbon transport system could look like in 2030. See www.transitionoxford.org.uk for papers.
