A timetable for the day with provisional timings can now be viewed online. Please do not rely on this as yet, as we still have to finalise everything.
But you can see that the more informational and factual events tend to appear earlier in the day, and the more participative or experiential events towards the end. Creative events including poetry and story-tellling gravitate towards the end of the day - we hope this general principle makes sense and will facilitate an enjoyable and manageable day for everybody.
Some changes and some fix points:
Mark Lynas will definitely be on first thing in the day, as he has a long-standing commitment somewhere else and needs to rush off, after he has given us the most recent update to his research on climate change. He will start around 9.30 or 9.45 and will have to leave by 10.45 at the latest (so get your questions to him in early in the discussion!).
On the whole the programme has been expanding rather than shrinking, with one exception: unfortunately Georg Schweisfurth from Germany will not be able to be with us for the day because of urgent business that has come up recently.
But we now welcome Chris Smith, the well-known story teller (see http://www.storysmith.co.uk/ and also http://www.storymuseum.org.uk/) who will entertain young and old alike with “The Hot Story - the tale of a warming planet” (scheduled for 5pm).
There are several other additions and we will soon finalise our line-up of stalls for the main hall.
